Holy and Hilarious

The Rev. Dr. Cynthia Huling Hummel of Lyons has published book. It is called 'The Lice Lady: Holy and Hilarious Moments in Ministry.'

The book is a collection of short stories about her experiences in ministry. She writes, 'It's about many of the unforgettable people I have met along the way. My stories are about everyday blessings and glimpses of hope, grace, forgiveness, and love. The stories are about God's presence in my life and in the lives of others.'

The publisher says the stories will make you laugh and cry. These true stories are reflections from her work as a Presbyterian pastor in Lyons, her work as a hospital chaplain in central New Jersey, her work as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Jamaica, and more. 'They are inspiring stories of hope, grace, forgiveness, and love that illustrate God's presence in our lives. The Lice Lady will touch your heart and soul.

Huling Hummel received her B.S. degree in 1976 from Rutgers College, her MDiv (cum laude) from New Brunswick Theological Seminary in 1996, and her DMin in Preaching from McCormick Seminary in 2003.

She and her husband Jon have been married for 28 years. They have two children, Emily and William.
