DeHond, DeMay reunion

The 80th Isaac and Cynthia DeHond DeMay reunion was held August 6 at the Farmington Town Park. A potluck picnic was enjoyed by the 64 members and one guest attending. Those who drove the farthest were from British Colombia (Canada) and Virginia.

Edith Deys of Palmyra was honored with a special cake for her 94th birthday. The oldest male attending was Karl DeMay of Newark. Isaac DeMay of Honeoye Falls was the youngest; he was named for the family patriarch.

Dutch and Eunice Reynolds of Palmyra celebrated their 60th anniversary on July 14.

A short business meeting was conducted by President Pam VandenBussche of Newark. Ivarene DeMay of Waterloo will host next year's reunion. Gary DeMay of Marion was elected vice president, and Dorothy DeMay remains secretary/treasurer.

Family historian Gerry McClurg of Shortsville reported there are at least 290 direct descendants, with 27 extended family members.
