Local Scouts will aid Humane Society

Newark Cadette Girl Scouts Allison Minger and Emily Oberdorf are working on achieving the second highest Girl Scout award possible, their Silver Award.

They have decided to help the Humane Society of Wayne County. They are making animal treats, blankets and toys for the animals as well as volunteering at the shelter.

The Girl Scout Silver project includes asking for donations for the Humane Society.

They have made posters and dropped off collection boxes at the following locations; Optical Dispensary, Community Bank and Animal Odyssey. Allison and Emily would greatly appreciate it if you would drop needed items at one of the three locations. The Humane Society wish list is included on the posters for reference.

Boxes and donations will be collected on Monday, August 21.
