County Fair begins Monday

Wayne County Fair, August 14-19, takes place in Palmyra.

The historic fair will have daily exhibits, entertainment, activities and food for everyone. Bands will play every day between 5-7 p.m. on the back porch of Floral Hall.

Grandstand events include the popular 3 demolition derbies, a Figure 8 Racing and Garden Tractor Pull. The Wayne County Fair Parade will take place on Friday, August 18 followed by Fireworks at 10 p.m.

Entertainment Alley performances include a Talent Show on Monday, August 14, Ruby Shooz on Tuesday, August 15, and The Legendary Dukes on Wednesday, August 16. Nik and The Nice Guys will be there on August 18; and it's Magic with Karvell & Karlene and Veggie Races are on Saturday, August 19.

Two new events include a wine & cheese tasting on August 17 with the Standard Jazz Quartet performing 5-8 pm and Battle of the Bands on Saturday, August 19. Every day, there are plenty of agricultural competitions and displays.

One of the largest gatherings of animals will be on hand throughout the week. Tuesday, August 15 is Sr. Citizens Day. Seniors 62 and over get in FREE until 5 pm.

Wednesday, August 16 and Saturday, August 19 is Youth Day. Youth 16 and under get in FREE until 5 pm.

Daily Fair admission is $5 for adults ages 17 and older, $3 for youth 6-16, children 5 and under are FREE with an adult. There is plenty of FREE parking. Playland Amusements will provide the large midway. For more information and schedule, go to
