Raymond's Haven goes online Raymond's Haven and Rescue in Clyde, has recently joined other animal welfare organizations in the area who list their homeless pets on Petfinder.com, the oldest and largest database of adoptable animals on the Internet. The site currently has over 250,000 homeless pets listed, and it is updated continuously. More than 9800 animal welfare organizations in the U.S., Canada, and other countries post their pets on Petfinder.com. Raymond's Haven and Rescue pets can be viewed at http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/NY671.html Once visitors to the site find a pet they are interested in, they contact the shelter where it is housed. Each animal placement group handles its own adoptions. Petfinder.com is celebrating its 10th birthday and has facilitated over 10 million adoptions since it was created as a grassroots project by Jared and Betsy Saul, to help end the euthanasia of adoptable pets. They have opened hearts and home to small unwanted pets, like snakes, spiders, hamsters, mice, rats, ferrets, hedge hogs and many others. Alot of the pets have come from pet stores originally and ended up at the Haven when the person really found out how much care the pet needs. Raymond's Haven is not funded by any government, county or local agencies, but are totally funded with donations from the public. Donations are always greatly appreciated. The Rescue does NOT take in large dogs and no cats. All shelters and Humane societies will take in these animals. But the shelters do not take in hamsters, exotics, rats, mice, etc. Call 923.1523 and ask to speak to the owner. If she is not available, you may call her at 315.871.9425. Copyright
