Marion couple marks 50th The 50th wedding anniversary of Dorothy (Dean) and Leighton Wiant was celebrated Saturday, August 5. Ninety-four relatives and friends met a Barbara Pinckney's home in Penn Yan for refreshments before heading to Hammondsport to board the Keuka Maid. A three-hour luncheon cruise on Keuka Lake highlighted the occasion. Folks came from California, Colorado, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Maine, Connecticut and New York to enjoy the festivities. Matt Wiant was emcee for the program on the ship with toasts, remembrances, jokes and singing. Swimming in Keuka Lake followed the cruise, after which a pizza supper ended the special day. More picnics at Sodus Point and the Wiant/Dean farm followed on Sunday. A few relatives spent the next week with the Wiants. Rebecca, Dan and Matthew, grown children of Dorothy and Leighton, planned the entire weekend to honor their parents. Copyright
