Since the 1970's, school buses have been painted yellow with black stripes to ensure visibility: yellow is the color that provides the most striking contrast to black.

August 18, 1932 - At a special meeting of Marion Central School, a budget of $29,000 was approved. A resolution was presented and approved that in as much that the school taxes have become a burden that the teachers should return to the board 10 percent of their salaries for the coming year.

Thanks! to Milda Cramer Crayton for information on the dry house that her father owned on Hall Center Road. She related some of the jobs she did after getting home from school.

The 'Tulips' group of the Red Hat Society enjoyed a pool party/picnic on August 19, at the home of Bonnie Henry.

Following the delicious picnic, some relaxed in the spacious pool while others played an exciting game of bocce ball - followed by other games and conservations.

'Happy Birthday' to Ethel Stone on August 24.
