Happenings Since the 1970's, school buses have been painted yellow with black stripes to ensure visibility: yellow is the color that provides the most striking contrast to black. August 18, 1932 - At a special meeting of Marion Central School, a budget of $29,000 was approved. A resolution was presented and approved that in as much that the school taxes have become a burden that the teachers should return to the board 10 percent of their salaries for the coming year. The 'Tulips' group of the Red Hat Society enjoyed a pool party/picnic on August 19, at the home of Bonnie Henry. Following the delicious picnic, some relaxed in the spacious pool while others played an exciting game of bocce ball - followed by other games and conservations.
