Highway work is beginning
Drive Carefully in Highway Work Zones

The New York State Department of Transportation is investing in a number of maintenance projects to resurface state highways within Wayne County. These projects were to begin yesterday (August 25), and are expected to be completed by September 28. The paving projects will create a smoother riding surface and extend the life of the pavement.

Pavement repairs will be made where necessary, new material will be placed and new pavement markings applied.

*Route 89 from South Butler for 6.3 miles to the intersection of Route 104, Town of Butler. Work was expected to begin yesterday.

*Route 414 from the Seneca County Line for four miles to the intersection of Route 31 in the Village of Clyde, Town of Galen. Paving is expected to begin September 5, and take one week.

*Route 104 from Pratt Road, Town of Sodus for 21 miles to the Cayuga County Line, Town of Wolcott. Paving is expected to start September 11 and be completed by September 29.

Traffic will be reduced to a single, alternating, one-way pattern controlled by flaggers during paving operations. Motorists should drive with caution through the work zone at reduced speeds for their safety and for the safety of the construction workers.
