(Phyllis Diller) Santa's Workshop is Dec. 15 and 16 at Come-Unity Center in Williamson. Our Thanksgiving dinner contained all the traditional dishes with one new one, baked butter bean casserole. Our dining room table was set early with a beautiful set of dishes that once belonged to my Aunt Mary Hermanet, which I treasure since I remember all the many family gatherings we enjoyed when I was a young girl. The centerpiece was a favorite Pilgrim couple and small Fall decorations since we would need all the space for the favorite dishes soon to be served and enjoyed. Each place setting was graced with an individual, antique salt dip common in days past. Our turkey was intentionally large in expectation of tasty leftovers in the days to follow 'turkey day.' (The neighbor, across the street, was in his back yard, cooking his turkey in the deep oil fryer) The family started arriving after 12:30, for the 1 o'clock dinner, and before long the driveway was filled with cars, vans and other assorted vehicles. Football games appeared on the TV and with all the flyers that came with our morning papers, the topic of Christmas and Christmas lists was discussed. (Our lists are hanging on the refrigerator) Supper was anything left over from dinner, sandwiches and assorted desserts before folks packed up for home- 'cause some didn't get Friday off from the work place. Hope you had a wonderful and thankful Thanksgiving. Copyright
