Open houses this weekend

Plan on attending the annual Holiday Open Houses at the Marbletown Schoolhouse and the Newark-Arcadia Historical Museum on Sunday, December 3, from noon to 5.

The Marbletown Schoolhouse, at the corner of Miller & Marbletown Rds., Newark, will feature quilts and other quilted items, baked goods and wreaths by Johnson Tree Farm in Marbletown. All items are for sale. There will be refreshments.

At the Newark-Arcadia Historical Museum, 120 High St., holiday music will be performed by Mary Smith (1-4 p.m.), with many old-fashioned holiday decorations on display.

The special exhibit on local transportation, Wheels, Wings or Water - To Grandmother's House We Go, continues.

A display of 55 photos from the Oct. 14 A Day in the Life of Newark & Arcadia photo contest, opened Nov. 18. Refreshments will be available. Admission is free to both sites. For information, call 331.6409.
