Christmas Eve at Lyons churches The New Life Assembly of God Church in Lyons is presenting the Christmas musical 'Free Gift,' followed by a candlelight service, on Christmas Eve at 6 p.m. The public is invited and admission is free. The play, with humor and song, reminds you about the true meaning of Christmas. Come and be blessed by an evening of family ministry and Christian fellowship. The church is located at 103 Williams Street in Lyons. Call 946.9348 for information about this event and others scheduled for this Christmas holiday season, including our New Year's Eve service at the New Life Retreat Center located at 7608 Route 31 in Lyons across from the dry docks on the Erie Canal. Grace Episcopal Church, 7 Phelps Street, Lyons will hold a Service of Lessons and Carols at the 9:30 a.m. service. Traditional readings and carols will be part of the service. There will be special music by the Grace Church Choir and organist, Annette Harris. At 7 p.m. December 24, the Christmas Eucharist will be celebrated by the Reverend Donald Page. The candlelight service will include special music by the choir and organist. Blue Christmas at Lyons Presbyterian Christmas can be a difficult time for people who are mourning lost loved ones, for those who are ill, for those who are depressed and for those facing other challenges and changes. The First Presbyterian Church of Lyons invites you to come to the 'Blue Christmas Service' in the chapel, to pray silently, to light a candle and to listen to some soft music. It will be low-key and casual. Folks can come and go as they desire. The time is 11:30 to noon on Christmas Eve Day (December 24).
