Happenings Early Marion/December 20, 1939 -The school building has taken on a festive appearance in all rooms during the last week. Almost every room has a decorated tree and other decorations. Miss Mary Farrell is responsible for the Christmas paintings in the front window. Happy Birthday to Eleanor Schoonerman on December 24, from her family and friends. The girls downtown asked for this casserole for our Christmas lunch. 'Concordia Spaghetti' recipe. Here goes:
While spaghetti and eggs cook, grate cheese and chop peppers. Melt margarine; add flour and blend. Stir in milk and seasoning; cook mixture until thickened. Stir constantly. Remove from heat and add cheese; stir until blended. Add remaining ingredients. Bake at 325 for 35 minutes. Volunteer Artist is needed for St. Gregory Church. Some of the names on the stained-glass windows are no longer legible. Is anyone able and willing to re-letter the church windows? Call Howard Bartlett, 926.5009. The secret of financial success is to spend what's left after saving, instead of saving what's left after spending. Marion Alumni Basketball Game Fundraiser will be Saturday, Dec. 30, in the gymnasium. The ladies will play at 6 followed by the men at 7:30 p.m. The cost is $5 per person and you can make checks payable to Marion Basketball.
