McCallum transferred to Geneva Wegmans

Maureen McCallumShoppers and employees of Newark Wegmans store will miss store manager Maureen McCallum, who will soon be leaving to manage the Geneva store.

She's been a fixture in the local store since October 2003, on a first-name basis with customers and employees, answering questions and making them feel welcome. 'I just love my job,' she said, adding that the Newark store has been a great experience.

The Geneva store is slightly larger, but McCallum says she has been welcomed there, as she was welcomed in Newark in 2003.

Wegmans is a family affair for the McCallums, Her husband Doug is produce manager at the Henrietta store. They live on Ontario, and have three children. Daughter Kara is working on her Doctorate at Nazareth College, son Ian lives in the Thousand Islands area, and Brendan, 18, is a senior at Wayne Central.

A new manager for the Newark store has not been announced.
