Comedies at Lyons Library Saturday

The Lyons Public Library will be showing two short films featuring the comedy talents of Harold Lloyd on Feb. 18 at 2 p.m.

He created the legendary Glass Character whose one trademark was lens-less, horn-rimmed glasses. More commonly known as 'the Boy,' this character was the 'every man' that anyone could relate to, regardless of whether a person was rich or poor, cowardly or flip.

In the two short silent films that will be shown, Lloyd starred with Mildred Davis, his real-life sweetheart and future wife.

A brief discussion about the films will follow. Hot chocolate and popcorn will be served. This program is free and open to the public. For details, call 946.9262.
