Reds win 48-38 and play Batavia this evening

The Newark Reds varsity boys basketball team advanced to the Class A semi-finals with a 48-38 win over Pittsford Sutherland Friday at Sutherland.

The sixth-seeded Reds racked up a 16-9 first period lead and led 22-15 at the half. Sutherland bounced back to trail 35-24 after three periods.

Titus Stephens is shown in action, surrounded by defenders. Stephens led the Reds with 11 points with Nick Burgess and Pedro Sosa scoring 10 apiece.

The Reds out-rebounded the Knights 39-11 in the game.
