Book review lunch in Newark

Newark Library book review luncheon is set for noon on January 13 at the library.

Nancy Rubery, retired assistant director of the Pioneer Library System will review Gilead, a novel by Marilynne Robinson. The story is narrated by a 77-year-old preacher who has lived and preached in the small town of Gilead, Iowa for most of his life. He is writing his memoirs for his seven-year-old son who he fears will never know him.

Reservations are necessary and should be made by calling the library at 331.4370 by 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 11. Cost of the luncheon is $4, payable at the door.
