Ruffalo's Appliance moving downtown Mitch Ruffalo, owner of Ruffalo's Appliance, 1117 East Union St., has announced he's purchased the former Wayne Pharmacy Building on South Main St., Newark. Ruffalo will move the business to South Main as soon as renovations are complete. Ruffalo's Appliance has been in business since 1989, but the service end of the operation dates back to the late 1960s, when Mitch Ruffalo's father Bud and his uncle Skip teamed up to repair appliances. 'Many changes to the building are planned,' said Ruffalo. Showroom style front windows will be installed, giving the store a more friendly atmosphere. The brown facade will come down and be replaced by awnings. The 5000-square-feet building will give Ruffalo Appliance the opportunity to serve customers faster and better. The building was built in 1927, as 'Newark Motors' (local Chevrolet dealer) and later was an A&P Supermarket. After the A&P moved to West Miller St., it was home to Finewood Western Auto.
