Martin Luther King Day march in Lyons

The annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day march took place today in Lyons.
Single-digit temperatures did not deter more than 30 people from marching at noon today from the Lyons High School to the Ohmann Theatre. In recent years past, only perhaps a dozen people participated.
The marchers walked from the Old Clyde Rd., north on Geneva Street, and then up Canal St. to the historic theatre for ceremonies that began at 1.
With a Lyons Police escort, the walkers sang 'We Shall Overcome' as is their custom. Among the marchers was new Lyons Mayor Corrine Kleisle, the first government
official to participate in many years.
