Newark Library is a wireless HotSpot Newark Public Library is the first library in the county to offer wireless Internet access. The library is part of a pilot project by the Pioneer Library System to offer wireless access to patrons. The library is now among the first Wi-Fi HotSpots in town. Wireless access hotspots enable patrons with laptops, PDAs and some cell phones to surf the web on their own device while in the library. These hotspots are part of a growing trend to add convenience to peoples lives and put information at their fingertips. This will benefit many library users - from canal travelers and business people just passing through the village, to local residents who prefer the ease of access and use of their own Internet devices. The public access computer terminals in the library are often busy, and this service provides an extension of Internet access to those who have a wireless-equipped device, and don't want to wait. Wi-Fi users will need an OWWL library card, or a guest pass to gain access to the wireless service. For more information, call 331.4370 or visit the library. Copyright
