Newark book club will meet

'Beyond the Covers' will meet February 13 at 6:30 p.m. in the board room of the Newark Public Library to discuss Khaled Hossseini's novel, The Kite Runner.

This highly-acclaimed book has taken the literary community by storm. Recently reviewed by Jean Richards Seymour at the Newark Public Library's November book luncheon, it's a tale that takes the reader from the final days of Afghanistan's monarchy to its present-day chaos. In the words of novelist Isabel Allende, 'It is so powerful that for a long time, everything I read after seemed bland.'
