Open house at Hotchkiss

The Lyons Heritage Society will hold an Open House on Saturday July 15, during Peppermint Days from 10 to 4 at the Hotchkiss Essential Oil Company on Water Street in Lyons.

Visitors will be able to jour guided tours and learn about the history of the Hotchkiss Essential Oil Company. H.G. Hotchkiss founded the company that exported peppermint oil and other essential oils all over the world.

Cookies and punch will be served.

Chris Davis will show a number of his Hotchkiss and peppermint items. Another case will contain artifacts recently donated to the Society. Also on display is a collection of dolls on loan from the Lyons Public Library. These dolls were made/collected by Jean King Cummings, who was a teacher at Lyons Elementary School.

A basket of peppermint items will be raffled. You need not be present to win.
