Last week ... the information about '1914' was information on the July 4th Firemen's Celebration of the Holiday, when folks really celebrated with Karaoke, picnics and activities to fill in the hours of the entire day.

Rodney and Helen Adriaansen and Irene Klaeysen attended the Horseheads High School graduation on June 24. Grandson Bradley Adriaansen graduated with honors in a class of 350. This fall he will study Automotive Engineering at RIT.

I enjoyed tea and pie at the home of Alice Flass on Saturday. She helped me to pin-point information on Marion history for our town files. We talked of former residents on Union and Buffalo Streets and buildings that once graced our town. One interest was her father's, Robert Murphy's, hitch barn and dance hall and skating rink that was behind the store downtown.
