LCS District Office to be razed What is known in Lyons as 'The Darling House' will be demolished this summer. The Lawrence Street building adjacent to the Elementary School was most recently used as the Lyons School District Office, now located in the High School on Clyde Road. At one time, the building was home to the Lyons Public Library, and the upstairs was used by the Elementary School for band practices and music lessons. When some local citizens opposed the plan to demolish the building, the District advertised and tried to find someone who might want to own and move the building. There were no takers. So, Thursday and Friday, the District offered residents the opportunity to walk through the building and bid on architectural items and furnishings. When the building is razed, the District will use the land for additional school parking. Copyright
