Elks honor Meal Service volunteers 154 Home Meal Service Volunteers joined the staff and board of directors for dinner at Newark Elks Lodge #1249. Home Meal Service Board of Directors Chairman Joe Brogan presented Elks Exalted Ruler James Sadler with a certificate of appreciation for the 10 years the Elks have hosted the dinner. Hines Color provided the table decorations, cakes were from Wegmans, the centerpiece was donated by The Flower Mill. Elected to the board of directors for a three year term were: Donna Chittenden from Sodus, Barbara Nittolo from Newark, Patricia Pope from Palmyra and Jay Short from Newark. Re-elected for a two-year term was Martin Weber from Newark. Executive Director Kathleen Denniston announced that in 2005 the volunteers had delivered 38,796 meals to 320 homebound Wayne County residents. In addition, at their nutrition site, located at the Methodist Church in Sodus, site manager Betty Mayou and her staff of volunteers served 6255 hot noon meals to 680 participants and distributed 5100 bags of free food.
