Volunteers needed for Meals on Wheels Home Meal Service, a program which provides meals-on-wheels for homebound residents is seeking volunteers throughout Wayne County. The towns of Sodus, Ontario. Williamson and North Rose are especially in need of drivers. Meals are delivered Monday through Friday between the hours of 11 and 1. Drivers use their own vehicles and mileage is reimbursable. Those willing to volunteer are scheduled monthly at their convenience. They may drive as little or often as their schedules allow. It usually takes a little over one hour to complete a delivery route and the meals are picked up locally. Over 150 people receive meals-on-wheels and depend on the generosity of others to volunteer. Without this service, many of our frail elderly, ill and disabled residents would no longer to be able to continue to live at home. Please consider giving a few hours of your time to this rewarding program. Without the availability of local volunteers. this service would be in jeopardy.
