Foundation plans Golf Classic in Sodus ViaHealth of Wayne Foundation will hold its second tournament of the summer at Sodus Bay Heights Golf Club on July 31. The tournament, which is a 'Scramble' format, is being held in support of the programs and services of Newark-Wayne Community Hospital and DeMay Living Center. The Foundation needs several key elements for a success in this tournament. Most essential are the 80+ golfers. Gold, Silver and Bronze levels of sponsorship, as well as Hole and Cart sponsorships, also are essential to the tournaments success. They are all available to individuals as well as businesses. Registration and lunch start at 11, and a shotgun start is scheduled for noon. Included in the days events are a social hour at 5 p.m. and a dinner at 6 p.m. Raffle prizes and awards for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place and the longest drive (for each format) will be given out during the dinner. The highlight of the tournament - Concord Ford Lincoln Mercury of Newark is sponsoring a Hole-in-One contest for ownership of a new 2006 Ford Fusion. Raffle prizes include two airline tickets to any destination in the U.S. on United Airlines, as well as some other nice prizes: Kodak digital camera and printer, a portable DVD player and a bar-size refrigerator.
