Local woman's husband injured in Iraq Sgt. Justin Farrar stationed in Iraq, was seriously injured by a roadside bomb on Memorial Day, May 29. His convoy was escorting the CBS News Reporter Kimberly Dozier. Two of her crew members were killed and another person was injured. Seven U.S. Army soldiers were also injured. Sgt. Farrar received serious lower-extremity injuries, especially to both knees, and he has a broken jaw. Farrar is in the intensive care unit in Germany awaiting more surgeries. He will be transferred next week to the United States. He is married to Amy Randolph Farrar, Newark High School and FLCC graduate. She is staying in Newark with her mother, Lori.
