Fort Mudge reunites for June 10 gig

Reuniting after 25 years in 2005, 'Fort Mudge' will be playing in the Newark Central Park Gazebo on Saturday June 10 at 3:30 p.m., and at Tommy's from 10 p.m. that day until 2 a.m. (also in Newark.)

Members of the band include Bill Clark (vocals), Dan Bailey (keyboards), Dave Carr (guitar & vocals), Fud Comstock (bass), Gabe Cinquegrana (guitar & vocals), and 'H' DeRue (drums). While all hail from Newark, Clark and Bailey currently live in Buffalo.

The origins of the band were in the late 1960s and early 70s, when Clark and Cinquegrana played together in a band called the 'Fort Mudge Free Lending Dump.' Their specialty was the music of the day, 1960s and 70s Rock & Roll. While the group had a limited life, members went their separate ways, some joining other bands.

In the late 1970s, Clark and Dan Bailey were playing together, and met up with H DeRue and others as Tommy and the Satellites. Cinquegrana entered back into the music scene at that time and along with Dave Carr who was also in local bands at the time, formed Cadillac Satch. After several successful years the band reformed again in the early 80s to become Fort Mudge.

In December 2004, Dan Bailey suggested a reunion. The band played to a full house last June for their first reunion. Their set lists include songs by the Beatles, Stones, Vanilla Fudge, the Kinks, Spirit, New Colony Six, Grass Roots, and others.
