Junior sailing at Sodus Bay

Fifty years after its incorporation Sodus Bay Junior Sailing Association begins its 50th anniversary summer with two sessions of sailing and swimming instruction on beautiful Sodus Bay.

This summer sailing, swimming and water safety program for youth is operated as a not-for-profit association and is open to the public for enrollment. The summer day camp is located on Clover Street in Sodus Point and shares waterfront beach and dock with Sodus Bay Yacht Club.

Instruction: The classes for sailing cover beginner thru advanced racing and cruising. The Red Cross Swim classes follow the American Red Cross system and include all levels of instruction. The sailing instruction follows the US Sailing curriculum. In addition classes are offered in water safety skills, seamanship, navigation, and environmental education. The staff of 12 is all certified in with American Red Cross CPR, Life Guarding, and First Aid.

Times: This summer's sessions are: Session I, June 26 - July 20 and Session II, July 24 to August 17th. The program hours are 9:30 to 4:00, with time for lunch, snacks, and open swim.
