Newark Rose Queen & Princess chosen

After 35 years, there is once again a Rose Queen and Rose Princess in Newark.

The Rose Parade will be held July 22 and is being coordinated by the Newark Fire Department.

The Rose Pageant was held June 11 at the Newark Middle School.

'Miss Salt City' pageant winner Jessica Bryant, a Newark native and Keuka College graduate, was the event emcee.

The 2006 Rose Queen is Kendall Main; members of her court are Jazmin Velazquez and Jacqueline Wood.

The Rose Princess is Kayla Allen. On her court are Kayla Lewis and Angelina Storelli. Photos by Jim Miranda

Dominique Main was named Miss Congeniality.

Wegmans Floral Department donated all of the flowers for the event.

Pageant sponsors were Faradyne Motors, WCTA Credit Union, Michael Calarco Law Office, Colacino Electric, Wegmans, Village of Newark, Newark Fire Department.
