Three Sectional titles for Golden Eagles

The Clyde Savannah Golden Eagles girls basketball team made it three straight Sectional titles on Thursday.

The Golden Eagles defeated the Perry Yellow Jackets 56-51 at the Blue Cross Arena.

Star senior guard Merrick Volpe was named Most Valuable Player. She scored 27 points and hauled in 15 rebounds to lead the team in the Class C title game. The Golden Eagles are now 21-3.

The teams exchanged leads several times during the gam. Volpe fouled out with four minutes remaining. Alyssa Van Fleet scored five of her 10 points after Volpe fouled out, including key foul shots.
