

Scott clinches title for Lyons

The Lyons Lions Varsity boys basketball team set Section Five history on Friday, March 3 at the Blue Cross Arena with a thrilling 60-59 win over the Perry Yellow Jackets.
Lyons Lions Darius Greene scored a game high 26 points to lead the Lions to their 15th Sectional title crown the most in Section Five history. The game was close all the way with Lyons taking a 10-7 first period lead and held a 30-25 edge at the half. Both clubs were tied at 45 apiece setting up one of the most exciting sectional championship games ever.
Perry took the lead with ten seconds remaining at 59-58. Lyons Isiah Scott number 31 took the ball down the court and scored on a jump shot in the lane at the buzzer as Lyons prevailed .Lyons won the crown and Scott was voted Tournament Most Valuable Player. Lead scorer Darius Greene and teammate Ron Johnson were named to the All Tournament team. Lyons improved to 18-5 under coach Steve
