Seniors in Newark may see 'Pippin' free of charge Senior citizens are invited to attend the dress rehearsal performance of Pippin for free on March 9 at 3:30 in the Newark High School auditorium. At 3 p.m., they may attend a punch and cookie reception in the NHS foyer, sponsored by the Wayne County Office of the Aging. Seniors who prefer not to park in the NHS parking lot may park in the lot at Woodlane Community Church, and board a school bus shuttle from 2:45 to 3:30 p.m. After the performance of Pippin, at 6 p.m., seniors are welcome to have dinner in the high school cafeteria. The dinner will include marinated chicken breast, rice pilaf, California mixed vegetables, rolls and butter, beverages including coffee and ice cream with chocolate syrup. The admission price for the dinner is $5 - pay at the door. After the dinner, those who parked in the church parking lot will be shuttled back to their cars, beginning at 6:45 until 7:30 p.m. To attend the dinner, you must make a reservation by March 7, by calling Deb Barry at 332.3265.
