Guide dog will visit Williamson Library

A special event is planned at the March 15 'Program Sandwiched In,' sponsored by the Friends of the Williamson Free Public Library.

Basha, a German Shepherd guide dog for the blind, will join Tammy McIntosh to explain the rigorous training program that prepared Basha for a life of service.

McIntosh, with Guiding Eyes for the Blind, and Basha will demonstrate the unique abilities a guide dog must have. This should be a special treat for anyone who is interested in animals or in the training required to prepare an assistance animal for duty .

The program begins at noon in the Community Room of the Williamson library and is free and open to all. An optional lunch is available; make a reservation at 589.2048 before 8 p.m. on Monday, March 13.
