DU dinner at Newark Elks

The Newark Chapter of Ducks Unlimited will hold its annual Dinner Auction on Wednesday April 5, at the Newark Elks Lodge, 223 S. Main St., Newark. The evening will begin at 5:30 with hors d'oeuvres, refreshments and raffles. Dinner will follow at 7.

This auction will include a Syracuse University basketball autographed by the 2006 Big East Championship team.

Ducks Unlimited is a national organization which raises funds for the purpose of wetland conservation. In over 65 years, Ducks Unlimited has raised over 1.8 billion dollars.

The fundraising is done at local levels with over 5000 chapters in the U.S. This is usually accomplished by auctions and raffles held annually at dinners organized by local volunteers.

The auction will include, antique fishing items, DU Adirondack chair, a regulation size Texas Hold em card table, String trimmer, several Jim Beam Collector Series Sets, Black Powder pistols, Guns; Henry Lever Action .22 Cal, The Charles Daly Field Hunter 12 Gauge, Benelli Nova 31/2 Magnum Pump plus more. The Newark Chapter of Ducks Unlimited is proud to be able to contribute nearly $14,000 annually to Wetland Conservation.

The success of the Dinner Auction is dependent upon the support of the numerous local Sponsors who each contribute a minimum $250 to DU. Additional Sponsors are always welcomed, as are auction item underwriters and auction item donors.

If you wish to support Ducks Unlimited, contact Joey Nicosia, Area Zone Chairman, at 331.7438, Ed Dundas, DU Co-Chair at 331.8401 or Greg Viola, DU Co-Chair at 331.7139.
