Williamson Library plans May events May is a busy month for the Friends of the Williamson Free Public Library. As reliably as apple trees blossom, the Friends group hosts a popular used book sale, entertains the public at a noontime luncheon and simultaneously conducts a membership drive. The Friends of the Library support library services with fundraising activities and have provided a wide range of equipment, programming and technology that would not be covered in the library's regular budget. The used book sale will be held in the community room on May 11 through May 13. The group is accepting donations and the sale features all kinds of books, audio books, and videos. It is a great opportunity to stock up on new-to-you materials. Wednesday, May 19, at the noon 'Sandwiched In' program, Town Historian Chester Peters will share a topic from his years of documenting local history. The program is open to the public, takes place in the library's community room, and an optional lunch is available by calling the library to reserve one. It's a great opportunity to learn something new about the community while enjoying lunch with a nice group of people. If you enjoy good conversation, good company and a good cause, joining the Friends might be just the thing. Membership opportunities are flexible and Friends of the Library can participate at any level that they choose. If time is an issue, you can join the group and lend your support simply by paying your dues. Membership forms are available at the library and will be gratefully received. Copyright
