Help plan Marion's Fall Festival

Preparations are in the making and a variety of entertainment is being booked for the upcoming Fall Festival in Marion.

The Fall Festival committee invites interested citizens and local business owners to an open community forum about the festival on Monday evening, May 15, at the Marion Town Hall, Main Street, Marion at 7 p.m. We are looking for new ideas and helpful volunteers to build on the successful festival that was held in 2005.

Mark your calendars now for Saturday, September 9, 2006. Festival activities are planned for the Main Street area around the weekend. Some of the old favorites remain and the committee is anxious to introduce a few new activities for added interest. Some of the activities include the running of the Marion Mile, a soccer tournament behind the elementary school, music throughout the day featuring local and international performers, great food, displays, craft vendors and so much more! The festivities will begin at 9 am and conclude in the early evening.
