Apple Blossom Fest underway in Williamson

Williamson's 47th annual Apple Blossom Festival!

The fun started last Saturday at the High School when local entrants for Queen, Princess and their Courts turned out.

Tomorrow (Thursday, May 18), is the first day of the Carnival from 5-10 p.m., and a Kiddie Parade at 6:30 p.m.

Friday May 19 is a full evening of entertainment starting at 6 when the Carnival opens up; crafts in the west end parking lot, plenty of good food. The west end of Town is closed off at 5 to make everything pedestrian friendly, especially for the Street Dance at 8, featuring Lower Than Johnny at the Grandstand.

Saturday is the really big day opening up at 9 a.m. with crafts, food, carnival, races and entertainment all day long at the Grandstand. But the highlights are the parade at 3 p.m. There will be 'park and rides' at the High School on Route 21 and at KM Davies on 104. Included are The Hitmen, St Joe's, Savannah, Red Caps, Marion & Williamson HS Marching Bands, and more. Stay all day and dance to The Surge at 8 p.m. from the Grandstand and Fireworks at dusk (sponsored by Cadbury Schweppes).

Sunday winds it down starting with the Sodus-Williamson Airport's Fly in Breakfast from 7 until noon.

Downtown will open up about 11 a.m. with Crafters, Food, Carnival and entertainment from the Grandstand at 5 p.m. then everything will be closing down.
