Garden Club to tour nursery

Newark Garden Club has planned a Walking Tour of Wayside Gardens on Friday, June 2, 2006. They will meet at 9:30 a.m. to carpool.

The guide will talk on the how and wherefore about plants of interest. A native of England, Anne Stonehocker grew up in a perennial garden but her serious interest in gardening began nineteen years ago when she and her husband built a house on two acres of farmland in Fairport, NY.

Anne is a master gardener, a graduate of the Ornamental Horticulture Program from SUNY College of the Finger Lakes and a certified Nursery Professional.

She writes regularly for Upstate Gardener's Journal, gives slide presentations and has a monthly segment about gardening on WXXI-FM. As perennial manager at Wayside Garden Center, Pittsford-Palmyra Road, Macedon, NY, she also offers consultations and designs for perennial gardens.

Lunch will be at Flaherty's across the road from Wayside.
