Road toll in Newark Saturday

AVSO in Newark will have a 'toll collection' fundraiser on the streets of Newark, between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 4.

The money collected at certain intersections is used for mailing cookies and other items to military personnel, for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners, fruit baskets, gifts and toys for veterans and families in need.

The CVC soup kitchen, Bickford Home in Macedon, DeMay Living Center, County Nursing Home Armstrong Senior Living, and Newark Manor receive gifts and items from AVSO.

Anyone making a $10 or more donation will receive a special gift.
