CCE meeting highlights Wind Farming Celebrate the great success of Cornell Cooperative Extension Wayne County volunteers and staff on Friday, November 10. The focus is the recognition of staff and volunteers and election of our Board of Directors. Anyone 18 years of age and older who is a resident of Wayne County and participates in CCE programs may vote for nominees. Special guest speaker will be Michele Ledoux, Executive Director of CCE Lewis County, home of the now famous Maple Ridge Wind Farm. With 195 windmills in operation, the county is excited about the energy and financial benefits for Lewis County residents. This is a $380 million dollar infra-structure project that covers approximately 12 by 3 mile stretch through three towns in Lewis County. Come tour the farm from the comfort of your chair as Michele shows us the vastness of this 21,000 acre farm. Nominees for four positions, of three-year terms, on the Board of Directors are: Hyacinth Clermont (Williamson), Ellie Conklin (Newark), Leigh Davis (Lyons), Robert S. Deemer (Palmyra), Mary Moseley (Newark) and John W. Thoms, Jr. (Clyde).
