Help Operation Christmas Child Samaritan's Purse is an international Christian relief and missionary organization. The organization is based in Boone, North Carolina, and is currently headed by Franklin Graham. The mission of the organization is to spread the Gospel of Jesus and provide aid and comfort to people in need. Bob Pierce founded and led the ministry of Samaritan's Purse in 1970. His mission for this organization was 'to meet emergency needs in crisis areas through existing evangelical mission agencies and national churches.' Franklin Graham became the President of Samaritan's Purse in 1979. Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan's Purse. It brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the world, through gift-filled shoe boxes. Many organizations and churches and schools are packing shoe boxes. One drop-off site is the Fairville Fire Hall, Nov. 16 and 17 from noon to 4, Nov. 18 from 10 to 2, Nov. 19 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Please do not call the fire hall.
