Fairville ladies enjoy banquet

The Fairville Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary held their annual banquet at Wayne Hills County Club last month.

Auxiliary President Teena Johnson welcomed everyone and then the program was turned over to emcee Fuzzy Taber.

Guests were Betty and Howard Faro, Walter Crum, Orintha Orbaker-President of Wayne County Auxiliary, Floyd Johnson, Chief of Fairville Fire Department, and Fuzzy and Bob Taber.

Special thanks was given to Wally Crum for the flower arrangements.

After dinner, Treasurer Donna Jordan reviewed the auxiliary activities during the past year. The auxiliary has donated to the American Cancer Society, Red Cross, Special Olympics and the Open Door Mission.

Auxiliary gives gifts to Nursing Home residents at Christmas. Auxilians catered dinners for the Farm Bureau and Wayne County Democrat Committee and served a spaghetti supper for participants in the Wayne County Motorcycle Club Newark Enduro. The Auxiliary had a booth at Newarkfest and helped with the booth during Peppermint Days. The Northern Central and the Wayne County Fire Departments conventions were hosted by Fairville.

The Auxiliary helped with the Fish Dinners during Lent and the Mother's Day Chicken BBQ. The Auxiliary helped celebrate the Fairville Fire Department's 50th anniversary. The Auxiliary will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2007.
