I really like this easy and delicious recipe.

Bleu Cheese Biscuits

  • 1 package refrigerated biscuits
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 3 T. crumbly bleu cheese

Cut biscuits into quarters. Arrange in glass pie plate. Melt butter and cheese together. Pour over biscuits. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes. Serve with toothpicks.

The TULIPS group of the Red Hat Society enjoyed an afternoon of 'tea and delights' at the home of Mary Ann Lane on Saturday. Dressed in their purple and red hats, they conversed around the dining table of events in their lives since the last gathering. Pictures were passed and jolly games enjoyed.

David Goodridge was nominated for the DAR Good Citizen Award by Marion High School. November 15 the Colonel William Prescott Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution held a recognition ceremony in which David came in 3rd place in the county for the Good Citizen Scholarship Contest demonstrating Dependability, Service, Leadership and Patriotism, thus earning him a monetary award. Ten other area High School students were recognized. Sue Denny officiated, Congressman Oaks spoke and a reception followed. David is in the New Visions Engineering Program at Wayne Technical and Career Center.

28 Marion High School Seniors left on Thursday, Nov. 16 for 3 days in New York City and 3 days in Washington DC.

Peter Goodridge currently a junior at the University at Buffalo in their Business Program has joined the Army ROTC program through Conesus College.

Soccer Player Linda Goodridge, a junior, is a National Honor Society member and a Peer Mentor. She was a Birds Eye Player of the Week on Sept. 13-18. She had two hat tricks this season, total of 23 goals and three assists, ranking her NUMBER ONE Wayne County Points Leader. She was Most Improved Player for the team.

Dear Dan: We woke up on Monday morning, with everything covered in a beautiful blanket of white. I thought you'd like to know.

Mary Alice (Vinke) Zegers and family wishes to thank all those who remembered her during her recent bereavement.

Art and Laura Tierson traveled to Elmira on Nov. 18 to the home of daughter Donna and Kyle. The men spent time hunting and Laura helped create pies at the school's Home Economics Department for folk's Thanksgiving dinners.

Thanks to Thirza Mullin for her donation of flour bags once used by the Marion Mill. These bags were found as insulation under the siding while preparing the porch at their home.
