Missing Sodus I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving and now it's time for the many leftovers. A fun Thanksgiving memory from Michelle Tremblay: Of course my favorate Thanksgiving memories are watching the parades, smelling turkey all morning thinking you would die if you didn't eat it soon. Sitting at the dining room table was always so neat, for special occasions. As well as decorating the house for the Christmas season, baking cookies and lots of shopping and wrapping. Try to be sure to pace yourself so you don't become stressed Then it's not fun anymore. Did you know that traditionally in Hawaii their Santa doesn't wear the red suit? Of course he would get a little warm in all that sunshine. Also the Christmas cards are different from what we are used to but why would they have houses covered with snow on their cards. Sodus Library news: We will reopen at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 25. Children from the Sodus Cooperative Nursery School, along with several parents, visited the Library the week of the 15. We shared facts about how to use the library, enjoyed two stories, and took a walking tour of the downstairs. Thanks to all of you for being such good listeners and for behaving so well on your visit. I hope you will plan to visit us again soon! Thanks to our Friends group and their many helping hands, we had a record-breaking sale, taking in $1,542! We are so grateful to all who helped. Congratulations to Shawna Pike and her new husband Peter Apps. They were married Saturday, October 28 at the West Middlebury Baptist Church. Some fun things to make for the Holidays at the Kraft Shack: ANGEL LIGHT: Wed. Nov. 29 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. She stands 33' tall and holds a candle light in her hands. You'll paint, then add jute for hair, and wreath for her halo. $25 includes all. KID'S CHRISTMAS CLASS: Mon. Dec. 4 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Bring yourself or your kids to make this adorable snowmen blackboard to keep count of how many days before Christmas. $12 includes all. FIREPLACE WITH STOCKINGS: Thurs. Dec. 7 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Enjoy painting this cute wooden fireplace then decorate with wooden stockings with your family member's names. $14 includes all. I looked outside this morning and saw a lot of the 'white stuff.' It's not supposed to do that until I can get my son back to Buffalo after Thanksgiving. A problem, too, because I'm picking him up on December 14 then taking him back January 14. One of those days I'm going to run into it. I just know it. Now that the Thanksgiving dinner is all done, thanks to Janet Leschhorn and Michael's family for adding a place at their table for us this year. Time now to get to the library and borrow the Christmas books and movies before they are all gone. They go really fast during the holidays. I was always surprised to see how many seasonal books they had. Enjoy your week. Have fun with your families planning for the Christmas Holiday. (Now, I have to figure out where I'm going to put the tree.) Copyright
