Friday night drugs arrests outside local bar

On Friday, November 17, Wayne Net Officers conducted surveillance in areas adjacent to Tommy’s Bar, Railroad Avenue in the Village of Newark. Newark police had received reports of marijuana usage in the parking lots adjacent to Tommy’s. Wayne Net Officers were able to conduct surveillance and make several arrests. Arrested and charged each with one count of misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

• Robert Hause, age 26, Chestnut St., Newark

• Laura N. DeCook, age 26, Norsen Rd., Newark

• George VanDerVeer, age 53, Auburn

• Alvin Anderson, age 49, Auburn

• Lori A. Chiccino, age 44, Auburn

• James Andrews, age 42, Auburn

The four Auburn residents were members of the band “ Disclaimers” appearing as entertainment at Tommy’s.

All six defendants were issued appearance tickets and are scheduled to appear in Newark Village Court on December 2.

In addition to charges against the people, the owners of  Tommy’s will be subject to nuisance points under the local Village ordinance.
