Picnics at ALASA Cracker Box Palace Farm Animal Haven announces 'Pick and Picnic with the Farm Animals' each day in October, from 10 until 4. Pack a picnic and your hiking shoes, load up the kids, and head out for a great day of country fun at historic Alasa Farms, a 19th-century Shaker community. Pick the freshest apples around from our easy to reach trees; there are loads of varieties including those wonderful Honey Crisps. Apples are priced by the bag, not by the variety. Go for a hayride, hunt for fossils along our beautiful creek below a waterfall, tour the Shaker museum, take home some souvenirs from the gift shop, and visit with the friendly animals of Cracker Box Palace. This is a no-kill shelter for farm animals and we have over 150 bunnies, horses, sheep, goats (some babies too!), pigs, chickens, geese, and ducks. Animals are available for adoption.
