Lyons Quilters plan show/sale The quilters group of First Lutheran Church is holding a quilt sale at the church on Broad Street in Lyons. The sale will be held on Friday and Saturday, October 13 and 14. For sale will be both hand and machine pieced quilts. Some of the quilts are hand quilted while others are tied. Sizes range from baby quilts and lap robes to queen size. This quilt group was started over 35 years ago, and continues to make quilts for charities including Lutheran World Relief, local fire victims, and victims of natural disasters in the United States. Well over 1000 quilts have been given away by the group, which meets every Wednesday morning at the church. Much of the fabric used by the group is donated to them. However, funds are needed for the purchase of thread and quilt batting, and to pay postage for shipping the quilts. Proceeds from this sale will aid with these expenses. Hours for the sale are Friday 10-4 and Saturday 8-2. Further information is available by calling 946. 9251.
