Volunteer at the hospital Newark Hospital has volunteer opportunities. If you would like to become more active in the community, make new friends, develop new skills, or if you are a retiree and have extra time on your hands, volunteering at the Hospital might be the right opportunity for you. The hospital is looking for volunteers for the Snack Bar, Gift Shop, mailroom, transportation, and several offices. A health screening and all necessary training are provided. Volunteers receive a free beverage each time they serve and credit towards a meal if they work four hours or more at one time. More than 200 volunteers and Auxilians currently work to support the progrms and sevices of Newark- Wayne Community Hospital. They have been active at the hospital since its opening in 1957.
