Marion kids seek donations

The Youth Group of The United Church of Marion is participating in USA Weekend Magazine's 'Make-A-Difference Day' on October 28.

Started in 1990 by Marty Moore, a real estate broker in search of a volunteer opportunity to benefit his community, 'Make-A-Difference Day' has grown to 14,000 volunteers donating countless hours of service to their communities.

As participants in this national event, the Youth Group is conducting a clothing drive to benefit local shelters and assembling care packages to send overseas to military personnel. Clothing and donations for the care packages may be dropped off at the church October 24-28, from 8 until noon.

The United Church of Marion is located at 3848 N. Main Street. Call 926.5501 for a list of suggested care package items. Cash donations are greatly appreciated.
